please be assured the webcam is uvcvideo – i think all uvcvideo webcams works out of box without having to compile kernel modules (like may happen on gspca webcams) – i’d strongly reccomend Logitech ones (i think all recent Logitech webcams are uvcvideo), mine one is L120 (a simple one, but there are surelly far better models from Logitech), which i had no problems since i bought it
