Hi all,
I want to buy a new PC and/or laptop and I was wondering whether the latest ATI cards (ATI Radeon HD 5000 and 4000 Series) worked great on Ubuntu? Especially using the free/open source drivers?

here is a link we give out on the #ubuntu IRC channel for ATI
and if I read this correctly those model cards should also be supported by default now. I could be wrong.
